Eight metric tons of waste taken out from Bagmati

Kathmandu, April 23: Eight metric tons of garbage was collected out from the Bagmati River and its bank near the Koteshwor-based Mahadev Temple in the 154th week of the Bagmati River Clean-up campaign.

Representatives from different 22 organisations including the Nepal Police personnel and Armed Police Force personnel joined the river clean-up campaign, the High-Level Bagmati Civilisation Integrated Development Committee said.

The clean-up campaign had kicked off on May 18, 2013. So far over 700,000 people have participated in the campaign.
