VP Pun leaving for China today
Kathmandu, June 10: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun is embarking on a weeklong official visit to China Friday. The Vice President Thursday called on President Bidya Devi Bhandari to apprise her of his visit. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was also present in the meeting that took place at the Office of President, Shital Niwas.
On the occasion, the President and the Prime Minister wished for the success of the Vice President’s visit to the southern neighbour, according to Vice President’s Press Advisor Manoj Gharti. The Vice President’s visit would help further consolidate the Nepal-China bilateral ties, the President said on the occasion.
PM Oli expressed his hope that the bilateral ties between the two friendly neighbours would be further strengthened with the Vice President’s visit.
The Vice President said his visit would focus on taking the relations between the two countries to a new height. The Vice President will be
participating in the fourth China –South Asia Fair, 24th China Kunming Import Export Trade Fair and shall address the China –South Asia Traders ‘ Forum.
He is scheduled to leave for China’s official visit at 11:00 am tomorrow. His 11-member delegation will include his spouse Hastamali, Secretary at the Office of Vice President, Rajendra Kishor Chhetri, Vice President’s personal secretary Suk Bahadur Roka, Press Coordinator Gharti and Lieutenant Colonel Manoj Kumar Silwal, among others. This is the first official visit of Vice President Pun since he assumed the post on October 31, 2015. He will return home on June 16.
