Obstructing CA anti-democratic practicing: leader Deuba
Kathmandu, Jan 25: Nepali Congress senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that obstructing the voting process in constitution drafting process was anti-democratic practice.
Addressing the capacity building programmes organised by the Party Central Policy and Training Foundation for the district party office secretaries here in the capital today, leader Deuba said that the opposition party alliance including UCPN (Maoist) and Madhesi alliance were imposing autocracy in the name of consensus.
He further said that his party had been fighting for democracy for the past 70 years therefore they would not be threatened by any force.
Similarly party Vice-president and foundation Chief Ramchandra Poudel said that the opposition alliance was trying to keep the nation in captive by ruining the essence of democracy.
He said that the UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal was nearer to the path of CPN-Maoist therefore they were obstructing the constitution drafting process.
Leader Poudel said that the opposition parties had shown their autocratic and authoritarian character by obstructing the process.
Party general secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula said that Monday's CA brawl carried out in the name of opposition was shameful. Furthermore, there should not be any opposition party in the CA.
Party office secretaries from all the 75 districts are taking part in the three-day training.
