Key To Success
Giving up is the only sure way to fail”, said an American writer Gena Showalter. Some people achieve success in the first attempt while others do not achieve triumph in many attempts. Many people deviate from their aim in despair after failure in their first attempt. Failing to achieve what we want in a number of attempts is not the real failure. One fails when he gives up. One fails when he loses his hope.
Gone are the days of less competition and luck. Today, competition is fierce in almost every sector. In order to obtain something competitive, one needs to do hard work. Those who want to achieve success need to work hard on themselves. If one doesn’t try himself, no one can help him. One needs to do his duty to open the key of success.
Those who take failures as humiliation can’t achieve success in their life. Robert F. Kennedy once said, “Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.” One should take failure as an experience and give a next try by using the previous experience. After continuous failure for few times, most people give up. Repeated failure makes most people exhausted and disheartened. Those who do not give up and work even harder will certainly achieve their aim. It is said that “lightning never strikes the same place twice”.
This writer has an experience of repeated failure in the competitive exams conducted by Public Service Commission (PSC). I was shortlisted from the written examination for final stage of recruitment for five times in the examination conducted by PSC, and each time, I failed to get the top spot. In each result, I ended up being in the waiting list. Only this year, I was able to achieve success. Had I given up after my first, second, third or fourth attempt, I would never have achieved my dream of joining the civil service.
The road to success is very curvy-- it has ups and downs and many obstacles at places. Some obstacles look so difficult that one starts believing that it’s impossible to conquer over that. But, nothing is impossible if we keep up work for it. “If you really want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse”, said American entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker Jim Rohn.
Only for a few people, the road to success is in a straight line. With only slight effort they achieve the goal which might prove very difficult for others. They are lucky. It is all about right timing. In our country, because of inclusive and quota system, many candidates get through a competition more easilythan the ones who have to fight for open competition.
“In order to get success, we must first believe that we can”, said Greek writer Nikos Kazantzakis. Human mind is the most powerful thing. If one can concentrate his mind on his goal, success becomes easy. If one does not believe in his own ability, he fails to concentrate and hence moves towards failure. Such people accept failure as an expected event. With positive mind and a ‘can-do’ attitude, one can taste success for sure.
