SC issues interim order not to discharge members of NEA Board of Directors till Jan 3
Kathmandu, Dec 29: The Supreme Court has issued an interim order not to discharge members of the Board of directors of the Nepal Electric Authority.
A single bench of Judge Prakashman Singh Raut on Wednesday issued the interim order not to discharge member of NEA Board of Directors till January 3 as both sides have been called for the discussion, said SC Joint-Spokesperson, Bishworaj Poudel.
The SC issued a show cause notice in the name of Energy Ministry, seeking reasons behind relieving Laxman Agrawal, Manoj Mishra and Suraj Lamichhane from the post.
They were discharged from the post on December 18 for reportedly not supporting Director Kulman Ghising in his campaign of decreasing load shedding hours. Three new members have already been appointed by the Ministry.
The decision of the Ministry was challenged by the three members in a writ filed at the SC on December 27. RSS
