Discussions on LLRC report in Federal Affairs Ministry
Kathmandu, Feb 13: A panel formed for suggesting the government after studying the complaints on the report of the Local Level Restructuring Commission (LLRC) has held discussions with the lawmakers from Siraha district.
The meeting was held at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development this morning.
In the meeting, most of the lawmakers opined for addressing the complaints even after increasing the number of local units in the district.
Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Shankar Nayak, who is also the lawmaker from the district, opined for increasing the numbers of the local units.
Similarly, Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Sita Devi Yadav also argued for increasing the local units.
Speaking in the same meeting lawmakers Padma Narayan Chaudhari, Amiya Kumar Yadav and Dhano Mahara criticized the report of LLRC saying that no discussion was held at the local level while preparing the report in the Province No 2.
Following the discussions, Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Hitraj Pandey shared that the meeting was called to receive suggestions from the lawmakers representing from the district.
He further said that lawmaker Padma Narayan Chaudharay was assigned the responsibility for coordinating to receive the suggestions in this regard.
It may be noted that the lawmakers representing from the main opposition CPN (UML) and agitating Madhesi parties did not attend the meeting.
Similarly, the committee is scheduled to hold discussions with the lawmakers representing from Dhanusha and Mahottari districts as well.
