Teenage girl found hanging
Gaushala, March 8: A teenage girl has died under mysterious circumstances this morning at Pipara VDC of Mahottari district.
The deceased has been identified as 17 – year – old Kajal Kumari Mahaseth, daughter of Rajendra Mahaseth, of Pipara – 5, District Police Office Mahottari said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Deepak Pokharel, said the teenage girl had gone to sleep after dinner last night but was found hanging from the ceiling in a room adjacent to her bedroom this morning.
She had a noose made from her shawl wrapped around her neck and found hanging in a nearby room which has made the death all the more suspicious. This has prompted the police to start an investigation. Her body will be taken to District Hospital Jaleshwor for an autopsy, police said.
Meanwhile in Bardiya, a youth was killed on Tuesday night while trying to chase away a herd of wild elephants that entered his village.
The elephants entered Karmala village of Babai Municipality – 3, Bardiya. The villagers were trying to chase away the elephants when 18 – year – old Bijaya Nepali aka Amrit was killed in an elephant attack, Bardiya National Park (BNP) Assistant Conservation Official, Ashok Bhandari said.
Nepali died on the spot after sustaining fatal injuries. The BNP has fenced off the villagers located in the periphery of the forest areas with electric wire fencing, but it has not been effective in saving the villagers from sporadic skirmishes with the wild animals. RSS
