Sources of 14 new hot springs identified in Myagdi
Myagdi (Beni), March 18: A total of 14 new sources of hot springs have been identified in various places in Myagdi district.
The hot springs, with natural minerals in its water, are believed the relieve ailments associated with joints, gastritis and skin among others.
Five new sources of hot springs were found along the Maygdi River bank at Beni Municipality-13 in the district while nine others on the river bank of Kali Gandaki, according to Singa Tatopani Kunda Management Committee Chair Birendraman Shakya.
Water containing several minerals as calcium, Magnesium and Potassium among others flow in the temperature of 50 degree Celsius in the hot springs.
Most of the newly identified thermal springs fall in the Annapurna trekking circuit which would be used as a lucrative addition to the tourism market as trekkers may long to take a dip in the hot spring for therapeutic value besides visiting for the quaintness of it, opined Chair Shakya.
Altogether 20,000 persons on average are recorded to bathe in the old hot springs in the district annually, shared Shakya, pressing for upgrading the existing and newly identified thermal springs.
Earlier, there were 32 identified hot springs across the country, including the famous one in Tatopani bordering China. RSS
