New Year 2074 marked in Beijing
Beijing, Apr 15: Nepalese embassy in Beijing organized a special cultural programme to mark New Year 2074 BS here at the embassy on Saturday.
Addressing the programme, visiting state minister for energy, Satya Narayan Bhagat, said that Nepal had been firm in its One China Policy and that Nepal had great expectation from the One Belt One Road initiative taken by China.
Expressing best wishes on the occasion of New Year, Minister Bhagat viewed that China’s focus on shared future and shared benefits with regard to OBOR will boost connectivity and trade around the world.
Liu Zhenhua, a standing committee member of National People’s Congress (NPC) of China, appreciated Nepal’s solid commitment to One China Policy and said that the OBOR would bring about prosperity for both the countries. On the occasion, Liu, who is also former governor of Shanxi province, also lauded the Nepalese embassy activities to promote Nepal-China relations on different levels.
Extending New Year greetings to all the Nepalese in China, Nepalese ambassador to China, Leela Mani Paudyal, reflected on some major achievements made in the year gone by including announcement of local elections, end of load shedding in Nepal and visit of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to China.
Some five hundred guests including diplomats, Chinese government officials, Nepalese businesspersons, students and journalists in China participated in the cultural show which was presented by the Nepalese students studying in different universities in China.
