Siddi canal operation elates local farmers

Bhadrapur, April 28: Local farmers have been elated after the successful operation of a canal channelized from the Siddi rivulet in the eastern part of the country.

A team headed by Chief of Irrigation Development Division Office, Bhadrapur Iswori Prasad Tiwari on Thursday inspected the canal operation.

The 22-km long canal was constructed at the cost of around Rs 440 million. It took 10 years to complete the construction of canal that has been providing irrigation service to around 1,700 hectares of land.

It is expected that the irrigation services being provided to the farmers through the canal would help elevate economic status of local people, said Chairperson of Siddi canal Irrigation Project Hari Prasad Chaulagain. RSS (Photo Available)
