PM Koirala, UCPN (Maoist) chair Prachanda meet, say 'meaningful' talks on Saturday
Kathmandu, March 6: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and opposition party leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda are ready to hold meaningful dialogue to resolve the disputed issues of a new constitution.
The two leaders held discussions on the issues at the PM's official residence at Baluwatar today.
They are ready to hold meaningful dialogue on Saturday, said leader Dahal's aide Chudamani Khadka following the meeting.
Parties were at two poles after the formation of the questionnaire committee in the constituent assembly (CA) and that had created political deadlock for some days.
This meeting is expected to end the political deadlock by resolving the contentious issues.
Parties now are holding informal talks on the prospects of issuing the new constitution on upcoming May 29, the Republic Day, as they failed to issue the new constitution on the self-imposed deadline of January 22.
