21 parties register at EC to participate in Upper House polls

Kathmandu, Jan. 13:Altogether 21 political parties have registered at the Election Commission (EC) to take part in the National Assembly election to be held on February 7.
The EC had given a 15-day deadline for the political parties to register with it by Friday. The election body, in a press statement, said that as many as 21 political parties filed applications for registration by Friday.
Besides, the five national parties -- CPN-UML, Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Centre, Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal and Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal – and 16 other parties have also shown interest in participating in the Upper House election.
The parties are Nepal Sanghiya Samajbadi Party, Nepal Majadur Kisan party, Sanghiya Loktantrik Ratsriya Manch, Bahujan Shakti Party, Nepal Pariwar Dal, Ratsriya Janamorcha, Nepal Naulo Janabadi, Ratsriya Prajatantra Party (Prajatantrik), Biveksheel Sajha Party, Naya Shakti Party-Nepal, Nepal Dalit Party, Rastriya Prajatantra party, Bahujan Samaj Party-Nepal, Gandhibadi Party Nepal, Nepali Janata Dal and Rastriya Mukti Andolan Nepal.
