IoE students come out against rape of minor girl in Parsa
Kathmandu, March 13: The Institute of Engineering, Free Students' Union, Pulchowk today held a demonstration, demanding action against the guilty in the rape of a minor girl in Parsa on February 2.
The union demands quality medical treatment to the survivor and guarantee of her proper care and protection. Students who joined the demonstration voiced against rape and other sexual harassment on women.
Following the around one hour long sit-in that started at around 10:00 am, the students organised a rally around the college areas, carrying placards with various messages against women violence.
Union President Roshan Thapa Magar insisted on the need of combined efforts to fight violence against women which, according to him, are on the rise of late. The guilty in the brutal beating of a girl on the charge of witchery in Kailali deserved a stringent action, he asserted, denouncing any sort of political interfere in such incidents.
