Rains to continue for three more days

Kathmandu, July 13:Meteorologists have suggested adopting the necessary precautions by staying alert as there is a chance of heavy to moderate rainfall in the central, western and eastern regions until Saturday.
Meteorologist Shanti Kandel said that there was likely to be moderate to heavy rainfall even in the evening and night time on Thursday in major parts of the country.
On Friday also, the whole day will remain cloudy across the country with chances of rains in the central and western regions and some parts of the eastern Nepal. Both evening and night time on Friday, there is also a chance of moderate to heavy rains in these regions, Kandel said.
There is also a chance of rains in the eastern, central and western regions of the country on Saturday as the weather will remain cloudy for the whole day and night, she said.
Meteorologist Barun Paudel said that locals residing mainly in the low land areas, riverside and landslide-prone areas need to stay alert for 24 hours as rain is predicted for the next three days.
Water level in major national and local rivers across the country will also increase causing a flood situation in the rivers, Paudel said.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Kathmandu recorded 93.6 mm rainfall followed by 36.7 mm in Taplejung in the last 24 hours.
