Director Pandey honoured in US
Kathmandu, July 22: Documentary director Ganesh Pandey has been honoured for his documentary ‘Bhagyale Bachekaharu’ amid a programme at New York in the United States of America.
New Jersey City Council of the US government honoured Pandey. Advisor to the City Dr Bishnu Maya Pariyar on behalf of Council President Rolando R. Lavarro, JR. handed a letter of appreciation to Pandey.
“Pandey has been honoured for his documentary on Gorkha earthquake that struck Nepal in 2015. The devastating disaster had drawn the attention of the world. Paney has been felicitated with different 17 awards for depicting the disaster in documentary,” reads the letter of appreciation signed by Lavarro.
The documentary ‘Bhagyale Banchekaharu’ is about those people who survived the devastating quake and loss caused.
On the occasion, editor of USNepalOnline.com Pradip Thapa Magar and President of United Sherpa Association Urgen Sherpa said the documentary left Nepali audiences living in the US emotional.
Transcribed into 13 different international languages, the documentary has been so far screened in more than 32 countries around the globe.
