Pakistani embassy marks Defence Day in Kathmandu
Kathmandu, Sept 21: Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu organised a ceremony to mark Defence Day of Pakistan on Friday.
"To pay tribute to martyrs and defenders of Pakistan, Embassy of Pakistan marked Defence day on 21 September 2018. On the occasion, a reception was held. General Purna Chandra Thapa, COAS, Nepal Army graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Reception was attended by political personalities, Nepalese Army officers, Diplomats and media personnel," press note of the embassy read.
Addressing the function, Nepal Army Chief Purna Chandra Thapa said that relations between the armies of Pakistan and Nepal have reflected the exception friendship of the two countries.
"Our armies have been enjoying professional exchanges and bilateral military cooperation at the optimum level. Consequently, we have been standing shoulder to shoulder in the international arena as UN peace keepers be in Congo or Darfur," CoAS General Thapa said.
On the occasion, Pakistan's ambassador to Nepal, Dr. Mazhar Javed, said that the recent high level visits by the armies of the two countries had been the strongly important component of overall bilateral relations of the nations.
