Sharma elected general secretary of Asian Martial Arts Games Committee
Kathmandu, Nov 23: General-secretary of Nepal National Martial Arts Games Federation and president of Nepal Taekwondo Federation, Dinesh Sharma, has been elected to the post of general-secretary of the Asian Martial Arts Games Committee, the supreme body of the Asian Martial Arts.
A meeting of the Asian Martial Arts Games Committee held in Bangkok of Thailand on Thursday picked Sharma to the post for a four-year term., the National Sorts Council (NSC) stated.
The meeting elected BK Bharat of India as the Committee president. India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Dubai, Russia, Turkey among other countries are on the Committee.
General secretary Sharma said that the president and the general secretary would nominate the remaining office-bearers of the Committee in coordination with the World Martial Arts Games Committee’s international headquarters based in Germany.
AFC Grassroots Futsal Festival held
Meanwhile, the Futsal Committee under All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) organized the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Grassroot Futsal Festival at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato today. The main slogan of the day-long festival is ‘Football for All’. As many as 100 children participated in the festival.
On the occasion, ANFA instructors gave futsal training to the children. Technical chief of the AFC Futsal Committee, Ali Taghojiladeha, and senior development officer Jacob Biggs are currently Nepal on a four-day visit, Futsal Committee coordinator Dawa Lama said.
