KMC provides a million rupees to Tara Devi Memorial Foundation
Kathmandu, Jan 23: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has handed over one million rupees to the Tara Devi Memorial Foundation.
Amid a musical event organised here on Wednesday in memory of Late Tara Devi, a prominent Nepali singer, the city office handed over the amount to the foundation.
The event was organised on the 13th death anniversary of Tara Devi, who is also popularly known as nightingale of Nepal.
Mayor BidhyaSundarShakya handed over the amount to chairperson of the foundation Dipak KC.
Though the infrastructure development was the priority of the KMC, the city office has allocated budgets for the encouragement of art, culture and literature, said Mayor Shakya.
"We have decided to support the revolving fund to protect the capital left by Tara Devi. We will support every sector for the balanced development," said Shakya.
