Deputy Prime Minister Yadav lauds China's assistance to Nepal's development
Kathmandu, Feb 3: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population Upendra Yadav has lauded China's assistance to Nepal saying the northern neighbour's cooperation in different sectors such as education, infrastructure, energy and others has made great contribution to Nepal's endeavor for development.
"Nepal and China have had good relations from ancient times, and after establishment of diplomatic relations in 1955, there have been increased level of exchanges between the two neighours," the DPM said at the programme organised by Arniko Society to celebrate the Chinese New Year, Spring Festival, here on Sunday.
DPM Yadav expressed best wishes on the occasion of the Chinese New Year.
Speaking on the occasion, Chinese ambassador to Nepal, Hou Yanqi, said that artist Arniko who made magnificent Buddha Stupa in Beijing in 13th Century was a testimony to age-old relations between Nepal and China.
She said China was willing to make contribution to Nepal's development. She also extended greetings on the occasion of the Chinese New Year.
President of the Arniko Society, Dr. Sarbottam Shrestha, said that the society had been working to boost people-to-people relations between the two neighours.
Political leaders from differeent political parties, members of parliaments, representatives of local level government of Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts, government officials and civil society leaders participated in the programme.
