'Need to take the campaign of world peace ahead'
Kathmandu, April 19:President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has said that taking the campaign of world peace meaningfully ahead was the major need of the hour.
In a meeting with representatives of the Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Organisation (AAPSO) at Sheetal Niwas this morning, he said the foreign policy adopted by Nepal has been promoting world peace and harmony. He also expressed the confidence that the international conference hosted by AAPSO in Kathmandu would give new impetus to the campaign of world peace, according to AAPSO Nepal Vice-chair Hiranya Lal Shrestha.
On the occasion, AAPSO Nepal Chair and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli shared with the President the objectives of the conference being held in the capital to mark the 60th anniversary of Bandung Summit and about the Kathmandu Declaration to be issued by it.
Head of AAPSO Dr Helmi Hadidi also shed light on the role of the Organization in the international forum and the importance of the Kathmandu conference.
The two-day conference on 'Vision of Bandung After Sixty Years: Facing New Challenges' is concluding today with the Kathmandu Declaration.
