PM Oli remembers late PM Adhikari
Lalitpur, April 26: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the government led by Man Mohan Adhikari, country’s first Communist Prime Minister, was a testament to how the leftists run the government.
In his address to a programme organised by the Man Mohan Memorial Foundation marking the 20th death anniversary of Adhikari, the Prime Minister claimed that the Adhikari-led government (which ruled the country for nine months in between 1994-95) was accredited for exceptional works for the causes of social security and the establishment of a rule of law. The same government which ruled the country with the motto of ‘build- your- own village’ kindled a hunger for development among the people.

Shedding light on the contribution of the late Adhikari to the causes of national independence, unity and consolidation of leftist political parties and the national development, the Prime Minister said “His works carried out amidst challenges were of highly significance.”
He took time to say that the incumbent government was pursuing development and was dedicated to materialising the dream of the party’s veteran leader.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister laid a wreath on an idol of the late Adhikari.
Foundation treasurer Laxmi Raj Manandhar described the role of the late leader in the country’s Communist/ leftist movement as exemplary. Former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, (incumbent) Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokhrel, Nepal Communist Party’s leaders Bamdev Gautam , Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Pampha Bhusal were among those present at the programme.
