Protest launched demanding annulment of Guthi Bill
Kathmandu, June 19: Stakeholders concerned have launched a protest today in the central capital, Kathmandu, demanding a scrap of the Guthi Bill.
Protestors who came from different parts of the capital assembled at Maitighar Mandala, chanted slogans and demanded the bill be scrapped.
They reasoned that the bill would affect Guthi heritage and culture.
On Tuesday, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal announced withdrawal of the bill that was tabled at the National Assembly relenting to a widespread protest against it from all quarters.
