Homestay established in Devghat under PMEP
Damauli, June 26: A homestay has been established under the PM Employment Programme in Devghat Rural Municipality of Tanahun.
Sixty-one employment applicants have been mobilised for the construction of the homestay.
Community Buildings of Gopitar Homestay and Karadip Homestay are being constructed under the Rural Tourism Promotion brought about by the Village Council.
In Baidi of Ward No. 2, employment opportunities have been provided to people for the construction of a toilet, footpath and Chautari.
Five hundred and twenty five people have been listed as unemployed. Out of them, 61 people of both genders have got employment for 15 days.
The Rural Municipality has allocated budget of Rs. 800,000 for the completion of the programme. Rural Municipality chairman Durga Bahadur Thapa said that the Municipality planned to provide employment for 100 days in the upcoming year.
The Rural Municipality also plans to reduce poverty and adopt social conservation contribution policy, he said.
According to Thapa, the homestay programme will help increase the flow of tourists in the area.
The PM Employment Programme is stated to be effective in Devghat due to joint effort of the community.
