NC to continue obstructing house

Kathmandu, July 10: The main opposition Nepali Congress has said that the parliament meeting cannot take place until a parliamentary probe commission is formed to investigate the Sarlahi incident.

Talking to reporters following the meeting of the House of Representatives today, NC Member of Parliament Gagan Kumar Thapa said a probe has been demanded as the incident that took place in Sarlahi could weaken democracy. "A probe committee must be formed as it is a matter related to the constitution and laws passed by the parliament. If we do not reach to the truth of this incident that it may endanger democracy," he said.

Leader Thapa also said that the conclusion of the probe committee would be acceptable to the party. However, the parliament meeting is being conducted by force. He also lamented that the Speaker did not give time when he wanted to speak on behalf of the party on the matter.
