Car knocks down scooter driver in capital  

Kathmandu, July 11 A person died when a car hit a scooter in front of Lazimpat Shangri-la Hotel at Kathmandu Metropolis-26.

    
Scooter rider Bhim Bahadur Gurung died when a red-coloured car hit the scooter (Ba 93 Pa 2050) heading to Maharajgunj via Jamal-Lainchaur from at 2.00 this morning.  

  
Likewise, Santosh Gharti Magar of Putalibazaar, Syangja was injured in the incident. 

   
Deputy Superintendant of Police Santosh Singh Rathor, also in-charge of Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Circuit Lainchaur, informed that scooter rider Gurung died on the spot after the speeding car knocked his scooter.    


Injured Gharti was sent to Venus Hospital in mid-Baneswor after his treatment was not possible at Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.

Again he was taken to Dirghayu Hospital where his treatment is underway, Rathor informed.    


Police have intensified the search for the car and its driver. (RSS)
