Rupandehi FA builds school building in Gorkha
Gorkha, July 30: The Dharmodaya Secondary School in Mirkot VDC-5 of Gorkha, that was damaged in the April 25 earthquake, has got a new quake-resistant building.
The eight-room building was constructed by the Rupandehi district football association at the cost of Rs. 1.3 million. The profit of Tilottma Gold Cup of Rs. 900,000 was further increased to make it Rs. 1.3 million with donation from friends in the executive committee, said the association Chair Dirgha Bahadur KC.
The school has been shifted to a new land that it had purchased after the old school building was limited to ruins. The school principal Narayan Babu Pandey lauded the support of the football association and called for assistance in setting up a library for the school.
Meanwhile, inaugurating the new school building, NC central member Surendra Raj Pandey said the teachers, guardians and management committee should build the school on their own. “We should end the tendency to always look for outside support’, he said.
On the occasion, District Education Officer Hari Prasad Aryal shared that 495 schools in the district were damaged in the devastating earthquake with an epicenter in the district. RSS
