Free treatment of sickle-cell anaemia in Bheri Zonal Hospital
Nepalgunj, Aug. 7: The Bheri Zonal Hospital has made arrangements for the free treatment of the patients suffering from sickle-cell anaemia.
Chief of the Hospital, Dr Shyam Sundar Yadav, said that the hospital would provide treatment for free to the poor citizens if the treatment cost was up to RS 100,000.
After the new announcement of the hospital, the number of patients visiting the hospital to take the service has increased. As high as 80 patients are receiving treatment in the hospital daily, the hospital said.
Likewise, the hospital has prepared a team of medicos including three specialists for the effective treatment of the sickle-cell anaemia.
Thousands of people in the Tharu community of the western Terai are believed to have suffered from the sickle-cell anaemia. The patients develop the symptoms of low amount of hemoglobin in blood, jaundice and acute pain in chest and joints. RSS
