Clash between demonstrators, security force pushes Birgunj into chaos
Birgunj, Aug 31: Tensions have run high in Birgunj, a busy town in Parsa, Monday due to unabated clash between the demonstrators and security force.
Demonstrators and security personnel engaged in skirmishes at Nagawa and Ghantaghar Chowk of Birgunj Sub metropolis. The security force had to fire warning shots in the air along with the firing of dozens of tear gas shells to take the situation under control, a security source said.
Krishna Kumar Patel, of Birgunj Sub-metropolis-10 has been injured after being hit by a rubber bullet fired by police in a bid to hold the situation under control. The injured is undergoing treatment at the Narayani Sub Regional Hospital, Birgunj.
Over a dozen people including Ifran Ansari, Anbar Hawari, Manoj Kumar Ram, and Munna Kumar Yadav have been injured in the clash.
There is a massive presence of security personnel in the Sub metropolitan area to avert untoward incident, Chief District Officer Keshab Raj Ghimire said.
