RSS scribe honoured
Palpa, Sept. 13: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Palpa chapter has honoured the Palpa district correspondent of Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) Krishna Darnal with the Social Awareness Journalism Prize-2070 BS.
Darnal was honoured with the cash prize and letter of appreciation for his contribution to social liberation movement and against caste-based discrimination. The prize was established by journalist and former lawmaker Binod Pahadi.
Likewise, Dev Pachavaiya was honoured with Devi Bhakta Chol Kumari Social Journalism Prize established by Buddhi Prasad Sharma while Human Rights Journalism Prize established by Somnath Aryal was given away to Guras Atraya.
Chairman of FNJ Dr Mahendra Bista, senior journalist Meghraj Sharma, Chief District Officer Premlal Lamichhane, Local Development Officer Krishna Prasad Pandey and others feted the awarded journalists with cash prizes, shawls and letters of appreciations.
On the occasion, FNJ Chairman Dr Bista expressed unhappiness saying that the draft of the new constitution was against the spirit of press freedom. RSS
