Nationwide celebrations with illumination to welcome new constitution
Bhaktapur, Sept 21: The promulgation of the new constitution has been welcomed with nationwide celebrations till the late night on Sunday.
Celebratory Illuminations were observed in towns and villages of Bhaktapur while welcoming the constitution after the President unveiled the new statute of the country at Constituent Assembly (CA) building in New Baneswor.
Cadres of various political parties, representatives of civil society organizations and civilians were seen exchanging happiness with dance and music for the country getting new constitution.
Bhaktapur chapter of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) had organized a candle light celebrations at Durbar Square in its bid to welcome the unveiling of new constitution.
Likewise, Manabiya Astha Nepal also illuminated candles in the area from Pandubazaar to Ghalate of Suryabinayak. The celebratory illumination was visible alongside the six-lane road, sky over, gardens and pavements in Bhaktapur.
Tens of thousands came together and celebrated the moment of constitution promulgation by illuminating candles, shared general secretary of Manabiya Astha Nepal Rabindra Sapkota.
Likewise, leaders and cadres of main political parties including Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN (Maoist) organized a joint candle illumination programme to welcome the new constitutional development in the country. RSS
