Doctors stress need of promoting community hospitals
Butwal, March 4: Senior physicians have underlined the need of promoting the community hospitals for the overall development of the health sector.
They expressed this view while speaking in a programme organised by the Nepal Medical Association (NMA) Lumbini branch here on Thursday to mark the Physicians Day.
Senior cardiologist and Tribhuvan University professor Dr Bhagawan Koirala emphasised on stronger community hospitals for making progress in the health sector.
He said the access of all the people, especially in the remote rural areas, to health services could be ensured only if the community hospitals are well-equipped and resourceful in all aspects.
NMA president Dr Anjani Kumar Jha said it is sad that of late the wrong concept of only picking up the carelessness of the doctors in treatment of the patients has been growing in our society.
Chief District Officer of Rupandehi District, Bishnu Prasad Dhakal called on the doctors and the health professionals to be sensitive about the patient's health and that efforts should be made so that no patient dies due to negligence from any side.
Earlier, a rally was held in Butwal in the morning to celebrate the Day around the slogan- 'Doctors for the Society'. RSS
